Shilin Night Market 士林夜市 Taipei Taiwan

Shìlín Yèshì) is a night market in the Shilin District of Taipei, Taiwan, and is often considered to be the largest and most famous night market in the city.

The night market encompasses two distinct sections sharing a symbiotic relationship: a section formerly housed in the old Shilin Market building, containing mostly food vendors and small restaurants; and the surrounding businesses and shops selling other nonfood items. The food court holds 539 stalls, and the second floor serves as a parking lot for 400 cars.

In addition to the food court, side streets and alleys are lined with storefronts and roadside stands. Cinemas video arcades and karaoke bars are also prevalent in the area. Like most night markets in Taiwan, the local businesses and vendors begin opening around 16:00. As students begin returning home from school, crowds reach their peak between 20:00 and 23:00. Businesses continue operating well past midnight and close around 01:00 or 02:00.

Discover Taiwan Street Food!

Taiwan is a beautiful country with plenty to offer. From beautiful cities to sublime countryside and wonderful friendly people, you can find everything that you want in a holiday in Taiwan. However, what I love best about Taiwan is the food!

If you have been to Taipei ( capital of Taiwan ), you probably would have been to their night markets. There, you can find lots of yummy street food that range from smelly tofu to the big fried chicken to oyster meesua.
These "small eats" as they call them in Taipei are great for a snack or take a couple of these snacks for a complete dinner ( dessert included! )

Taiwanese Snacks Oysters mee Sua in Singapore

With the aim to introduce Taiwan culture through popular Taiwanese snacks, authentic Mee Sua, tasty Crispy Chicken and unique Mushroom Tea Egg to the nutritious Cooling Flower Tea. All food items undergo stringent checks for quality and taste before they are introduced on the menu and serving procedures are followed with great care, to ensure consistency in serving only the best.

Joe's Corner Cafe & Bar at Simon Road Upper Serangoon Road Singapore

One of my regular neighborhood haunts. Down to earth, friendly service..This place is a little hard to find as it is off the main Upper Serangoon Road and you will have to turn into a smaller lane that will lead to the private houses. It is pretty convenient for those who drive as there is an open car park just next to the cafe.
