BEL MONDO SINGAPORE

Southern Italian cuisine is popular with people from all backgrounds and ages because it is essentially food from the heart. Italian cuisine is characterised by its sophistication in its simplicity, with many dishes having only four to eight ingredients. Italian cooks rely chiefly on the quality of the ingredients rather than on elaborate preparation. This is one of the main reasons behind the ever increasing popularity of this cuisine. The style is more mediterranean and is almost a fusion between Greek and Spanish cooking.

Ingredients and dishes vary by regions. Many dishes that were once regional, however, have proliferated with variations throughout the country. Cheese and wine are a major part of the cuisine, with many variations and creations. Coffee, specifically espresso, has become important in Italian cuisine.

In a traditional Italian meal, the first to be served would always be an antipasto, a small dish to kickstart your taste buds. The next to be served would be the primo, which usually is a pasta or risotto, but could also be a gnocchi or a soup. Following this would be the secondo, which can be meat, seafood or a substantial vegetable dish or cheese dish. Dolce, or desserts, will be served last

NANTSUTTEI

Among the wide variety of ramen shops in Singapore, Nantsuttei offers tonkotsu soup (pork-based creamy-typed soup) ramen, which derived from kyushu area (west part of Japan)

Their special and unique ingredient is "Ma oil", which is a blend of seven types of deep-fried garlic with sesame oil. The harmony of tonkotsu soup and "Ma oil" is Nantsuttei's most distinctive feature.

Their noodle is mid-size in thickness and springy in texture, well-suited to the mix of tonkotsu soup and "Ma oil".

KEISUKE TOKYO

Selected as No. 1 ramen in Japan, KEISUKE has a sterling reputation for its noodles.

In the annals of Japanese ramen, their broth is a sensation. Without a pork bone base, the revolutionary and new broth is made with mainly fried shrimp, giving it a very rich flavour. Their choice of soy sauce is also carefully selected, only white soy sauce is used.

Keisuke Tokyo Ramen won the title of Ramen Champion at Tokyo Ramen Championship 2011 in Japan. Keisuke Takeda was selected as the Top Ramen Chef in Japan and was crowned as Ramen King!.

The Ramen Champion Series is a annual gathering of over 30,000 ramen chefs in Japan competing for coveted Ramen King title

Ponggol Seafood Holdings at Marina Country Club

In business since 1969, this restaurant is a household name in Singapore. Its chilli crab is made with a sauce concocted from not only tomato and chilli, but a blend of other spices and piquant ingredients. Other classics on the menu are the house mee goreng and deep-fried soon hock

Domino's Pizza Upper Serangoon Rd

If i am having that hot, cheesy, yeasty, tangy tomato craving of a good American pizza, I always call Domino's.

I'm a classicist so I always go for the pepperoni on the classic crust. Really good and the secret here is in the bread! My recent discovery is the meat lovers which has pepperoni, mushroom and BBQ sauce. Another amazing pizza - really good cold the next day too!

Its always fun to order because if the pizza isn't at your doorstep in 30 minutes from placing an order they'll give you a free pizza the next time you order. Order online and they throw in freebies like bread sticks too... YUM!

Rite Pizza Upper Serangoon Rd

Was craving for some piping hot, cheesy goodness one night and stumbled upon Rite Pizza after a quick search on the net. I discovered that not only do they have 1-for-1, but they do free deliveries as well! Not to mention, their menu is extensive and they offer (my favourite) thin crusts too! With all these plus points, we decided to give them a shot.

After much deliberation, we settled on Pepperoni Plus and Summer Choice. Unfortunately, when I asked for thin-crust, the girl on the other line went, “No more thin-crust.” I guess their thin crusts must be pre-made after all. To their benefit, our order arrived within half an hour, which is pretty quick. They threw in a free loaf of garlic bread too.

Toppings were generous and yummy

The Little Fish Shop (Nex)

Tucked away on the fourth level of NEX mall near the Serangoon Gardens suburb, Little Fish Shop is, at its name implies, a puny orange-accented space proffering an ambitious menu of seafood delights

Price is a little steep for us but the food quality is good enough to justify the price.

Fish & Chips, Come with salad & a large potion of chips. Thin crust & succulent fillet. Tartar sauce taste ok but their in house speciality sauce taste awesome!

Service is good & friendly. But if its full -house you gotta prepared to wait a little

Carl's Jr Changi Airport T3

Carl's Junior (Jr) offers premium quality charbroiled burgers and has an outlet located at Changi Airport Terminal 3

This is a great place for quality burger if you are not going to pay for restaurant price, gst, service charge.

Portobello Mushroom Burger is my favourite and famous star if i am not too hungry. The patties are warm and juicy which makes me keep going back to them.

if i think of burger i will think of carl's jr.
