Tiger Bar Patong Phuket

Tiger Bar in Patong's Bangla Road has been around for many years and is one of the most popular places to have a drink in all of Phuket. Every single night the entire bar area of Tiger is packed with bar girls and tourists and it is like this throughout the night.
Tiger Bar is also known as Soi Tiger and it isn't just one bar, it's a collection of many small bars known as beer bars and they are all under the one roof. Each bar is usually owned by someone different and they all have different names. The bars are almost always owned by expat foreigners who go halves with a Thai person in the business. The expat owners are sometimes present at the bars and join in on the fun of drinking with the tourists and to watch over the bar. Each bar usually employs around 10 bar girls as well as bar tenders and a mamasan.

Phuket Night Market

One of the highlights for anyone visiting Thailand for the first time, is always the discovery of the local night market. Shopping in one of these noisy, busy markets is like no other shopping experience on earth. Phuket Night Market, which also goes by the name of Jatujak Market (also known as Chao Fa Market by locals) is one of the best examples of its kind to be found in Southern Thailand.

Phuket Night Market is easy to find, it is located directly opposite Wat Naka along Chao Fa West Road, just off the road which heads off to Phang Nga. Every Tuk-Tuk and taxi driver knows this market, just mention the name. The market is only open two nights of the week, on Saturdays and Sundays.

The Market itself opens about 4pm and closes around 9 - 9.30pm and is a carnival type atmosphere. If travelling in a rented car, its best to arrive early as parking can be a problem.

Patong Seafood Restaurant Phuket

"One of Patong’s oldest (since 1979) and finest restuarants. Serving a large selection of local fresh seafood from the Andaman Sea. Live Phuket lobster, crabs and fish for your choosing. Have it cooked to your liking. No tax and service charge."

Bangla BoxingStadium Phuket

Bangla BoxingStadium is located on Bangala Road and can be easily accessible to anyone walking by. It is located behind the Jungceylon Mall, directly opposite the Banzaan Fresh Market. From the outside it does look kinda touristy with a large bar and pole-dancing girls just next to the ticketing counter (part of the Tiger entertainment complex).

They hold fights three nights a week, on Wednesday, Friday & Sunday nights. There are three types of ticketing at the BBS. VIP seats - 2,500 baht, Ringside seats - 2,000 baht and Stadium seats - 1,700 baht. The fights commence at 9pm and run until 11:30pm. They usually have about nine fights on the card, either Thai vs Thai, Thai vs European or European vs European fighters. The fights are real and not staged

The VIP seats are at ground level and immediately adjacent to the ring, which means you have to look up and have the added risk of getting splattered with sweat or blood. The ringside seats are set back and located in tiers underneath the stadium seats. The stadium seats are on the second floor level looking directly down at the ring. If you don't not have a reserved VIP seat you should try and get there early (about 8:30pm) and get a front row ringside or stadium seat, in order to have a clear unobstructed view of what is going on in the ring.

Before and during the fights they have staff which will take drink orders for people in the VIP seats and ringside seats. Also the local bookies will wander around the ground taking bets on the fights if you want

Jungceylon Shopping Complex Phuket

Standing downtown, diagonally opposite Bangla Road, the Jungceylon Shopping Complex has radically changed the face of shopping in Patong. The two main stores in the complex are Robinson - a gleaming well-lit upper end department store, and Big C supermarket.

The 200-plus other stores in this shopping heaven sell brand-name clothes, spectacles, sunglasses, cosmetics and perfumes, shoes, DVDs, computer games, tons of mobile phones and accessories, electrical goods but it is also a great entertainment haven with a five-room SF Cinema and a 16-lane bowling alley, perfect for rainy days or to escape the heat of the day.
