This is a stall with the name "Tiong Bahru" on the sign board, so it must be good. The newspaper clipping displayed at the front of the stall reported that the shop has been around for 20 years and the stall owner was one of the chefs dishing out chicken rice at the Mandarin Hotel. That would be a good reason to give the chicken rice a try. I was very pleasantly surprised to find that both the white and roasted chicken were very good! The flesh was tender and tasty, and the sauce was savoury and sweet

Satay by the Bay at Singapore Garden by the Bay
Recently opened in 2013, this is part of the new Marina Bay attraction which includes the Marina Barrage as well as Gardens by the Bay. An eco-conscious food court with various types of local food to be found here. Nice and spacious..Went there during a visit to Marina Barrage. It is about 5 mins walk away from the barrage.
Being close to attractions such as the Gardens By The Bay, I expected the prices to be way high, but it was quite reasonable for the location.
It is a little more nicely renovated than a regular hawker centre, no air-con, open-air, forms part of the garden.
Lots of grilled stuff, many stalls selling Satays (meat on skewers). Prices are about $0.70 per stick. There are other stalls as well - the usual hawker fare.
It was a Sunday evening around 7pm, nice bustle but still lots of seats

Makansutra Glutton's Bay Singapore
Surrounded by retro-inspired push-carts and offering a spectacular view of the Marina Bay skyline, this open-air, moon-lit food centre is a hotspot for visitors and the sleepless in Singapore. Take your pick from a wide range of famous local treats such as fried carrot cake, oyster omelette, chilli crab and roti jala (lacy pancakes served with delicious curry), or try the more unusual roti kaya fondue.
A must-try is the roti john or egg with minced lamb loaf, which many claim to be a creative delicacy concocted by an enterprising Malay chef to cater to his meat loaf-loving visitors from overseas. Also enjoy an ice-cold glass of beer while watching free street performances frequently organised by arts centre Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay, located just next door.

Ikea Cafe Tampines Singapore
You would have thought that a furniture shop would sell furniture best. Be surprised that the food that they serve are great as well. I had the occasion to try the meatballs and the chicken wings in this restaurant, and I would say that they taste great. The chicken wings had a crispy skin and the meat is tender. The meatballs combined with the gravy was excellent. The only downside is that it can get really really hard to find a seat there

Rasa Saya Western food at Ang Mo Kio S11 Food Centre Singapore
Read many, many rave reviews for this western food stall. Always wanted to try it but the lines are usually long. And I don’t believe in queuing for food. If the queue is long, I’ll eat something else .My ex-collegue, who lives in Ang Mo Kio, informed that if the auntie is manning the stall, you’ll have to queue (self-service style) but if the uncle mans the stall, he will deliver it to your table.

Qi Ji at Hougang Mall Singapore 奇迹
I've been a regular patron of Qi Ji since it first opened in Singapore. There is one thing I like about Qi Ji: they maintain the same food standard throughout the years and at all their outlets.
The mee siam (soup base) is satisfyingly sour. The mee rubus gravy is deliciously thick. The popiah is a bit more expensive than the ones you get from hawker centres but otherwise, it's bigger portion than the usual. The nasi lemak is not the best in Singapore but it's not bad either. Their home-cook drinks (chrysanthymum, barley, soya milk, etc.) is reasonably priced

Warakuya Japanese 和乐屋 @ Taman Pelangi, Johor Bahru
Jalan Kuning 2, Taman Pelangi is like a street of with various type of food. It has various restaurants. For example, Taiwan food, three to four Japanese restaurant, one Italian finest food restaurant and some pubs
This place is very well know and liked by the Japanese community of Johor Bahru. It says enough , I believe. I frequently visited the restaurant. I tried other Japanese, but this is still my favorite. If you come here once, you will come back for sure. It has a surprisingly huge menu, a whole big book. They have almost every Japanese food, including sushi and sashimi ( row fish) , but also grill sea food, soups, and a lot of special delicacy like grilled beef tong. Non halal restaurant , they serve pork and alcohol as well, also Japanese beer and sake. All the food has great quality, fresh and tasty. It s not a cheap restaurant, but the quality raw fish is expensive, and they serve really quality food. But if you don't want to spend a lot of many, you can find something cheaper on the menu.
The restaurant is big, it can be noisy

Serangoon Garden Chomp Chomp Singapore
It was such an overwhelming experience to step inside Chomp Chomp market at Serangoon Gardens. There were stalls on the left, and on the right. Rows and rows of them stretching right to the end. I know all the hawker centres in Singapore look the same, but somehow there is this sense of hope in Chomp Chomp — it feels like everything will taste good no matter which stall we order from.
I felt as though I was a kid in Disneyland as I walked around to check out the different food stalls in Chomp Chomp. There was so much food! And everything seemed to look so good! I was tempted to order something from every stall, but it was impossible since there was only two of us.
Whenever I asked for recommendations for the best BBQ stingray in Singapore, people will always point me to the ones in Chomp Chomp. Unfortunately, I couldn’t remember the name of the stall when I was there.
In the end, I randomly ordered from some stalls since I have never been to Chomp Chomp Food Market before. “OH MAN! I miss BBQ Stingray!” I almost shouted that out when it was brought to our table. Even though I sweated profusely after eating the BBQ Stingray ($8), I just couldn’t stop having more of it.
The oyster omelette from Ang Sa Lee Fried Oyster was delicious. I actually prefer fried carrot cake to oyster omelette since I only like the egg and not the oyster. But still, you can never say no to oyster omelette, and the slightly spicy-sourish chili sauce made it even better
I’m not sure if Chomp Chomp is the only hawker centre that has the big glasses of sugarcane juices, but I absolutely love it! Sugarcane is the perfect choice of drink to go along with our local Singapore hawker food.
A dollar for a chicken wing? Just give me all the wings on the rack
