No Signboard Seafood Restaurant (Geylang) Singapore

Its name recalls its origins as a hawker stall without a name or sign, but today the place is a full-fledged restaurant. Its signature dish is white pepper crab, created by the founder and still popular today, but theres a wide-ranging seafood menu to choose from as well

Mini Steamboats at Suntec City Food Court Singapore

Here is my new-found fascination with mini steamboat led me to Suntec City Food Court, where I discovered this mini steamboat, not much people patrolling but I decided to give it a try. Here I found the cheapest mini hotpot set meals. What impressed me most is the superior quality of the soup base. With a subtle fragrance of ginseng, the mouthwatering soup is irresistibly flavorful that you can have it on its own. The chicken mini hotpot set comes with slices of chicken, hotdog, bean curd, mushrooms and vegetables

Louie'NY Pizza at Universal Studio Singapore

Louie's NY Pizza Parlor serves New York style pizzas with various toppings.. i was at Universal Studio Singapore a couple of weeks ago. The entertaining and fun day with all the walks, rides and sun sure made one hungry. Heard a bit of Loui's NY Pizza Parlor and decided to check out the place since it is probably one of the cheaper options in Universal Studio Singapore.

Loui's NY Pizza Parlor is a cafeteria concept restaurant. Instead of table serving, customers take the food they require from the counter and pay at the cashier.

Korean Ufo Roaster Buffet at Gelyang Singapore

Korean Chinese-style hotpot, eaten communally. Side dishes of raw meats(chicken, pork, beef, liver, minced balls), fish, squid(sotong) and vegetables are cooked by dipping into the hotpot which is kept simmering at a boiling temperature. The best part of the steamboat meal is savouring the soup after all the meats and vegetables have been cooked and eaten. It is at this time that the soup is at its richest and tastiest

Honeymoon Dessert at Bugis Junction and Vivo City Singapore

This is nice little chillout place for shoppers who want to rest their legs after a shopping spree but would like to do so on a budget. That said, however, the desserts here are slightly more expensive than what you could get in other, more well-known, establishments..Service is prompt and satisfactory.

Sushi king at Johor bahru KSL Mall

Very tastefuly done up, clean and tidy restaurant. The staff were extremely courteous and they helped us choose the best sushi preparations. In sipte of having language issues we got along well with the staff.

There is a converyor belt kind of a set up and sushi plates keep revolving around the table. We can just pick what we like. A very exciting format

Ponttain Wanton Mee at Pemas Jaya Johor Bahru

If you are mulling over where else to “makan” in Johor Bahru, Pontain Wanton Mee is an option you can consider.

Originating from Pontian (obviously!), this chain of Wanton Mee restaurant offers hand made noodles with a variety of sauces (Black, Chilli, Tomato (original) and mixed), served with Char Siew meat, vegetables and both fried and steamed wanton. The trade-mark is the noodles – they are “Q-Q” and as what the chain claims – will not soften even for takeaways. The chain also claims that no preservatives are added to the food.

Fish and Co at Vivo City Singapore

Fish & Co. has an extensive takeaway selection of seafood-based dishes like pasta and paella, but only a few are available for delivery. These tend to be fried and not done very well at all. The fish in our New York Fish and Chips dish was a massive, but tasteless, filet of fish ($14.90), and the fried batter looked like the burnt pockmarked surface of the moon. Optimistically described as ‘the best fish and chips in town’, it wasn’t. Worse, the accompanying cheese sauce (which we guess is what made it a New York Fish and Chips) had split, leaving an unappetising layer of fat floating at the top of the container. The calamari rings (free with an order of two drinks) were soggy and bland, and the Fisherman’s Combo ($18.90 for fish, calamari, prawns and chips) was underwhelming

New York Western Restaurant at Kovan heartland Mall Singapore

There’s something so casually chirpy, upbeat and authentic about New York New York (so authentic, in fact, they named it twice and plonked down a pool table in the middle of the restaurant) that you understand why the lunch and dinner queues are so long

Octa Hotel at Millenia Walk Singapore

In this first foray abroad and in Singapore, OCTA HOTEL evokes the concept of an imaginary hotel in Paris’ 8th arrondissement (district) with a simple but tasteful interior, strewn with antique furniture and comfortable lighting. In this quaint setting akin to a lady’s home in Paris are small gift items, accessories and fashion apparel and bags. A small café for light meals and afternoon tea complements the setting
