Serangoon Gardens Food Centre

Serangoon Gardens is a food haven for all food lovers out there, besides the long stretch of restaurants located there, Chomp Chomp is another name that comes into mind when you think of Serangoon Garden. But no, we are not looking at Chomp Chomp today, there’s another place which is worth a visit, Serangoon Gardens Food Centre!

In case you are wondering where is Serangoon Gardens Food Centre, its near Lorong Chuan, just before turning in into the Serangoon Gardens’ roundabout

DJ Bakery

DJ Bakery, is selling swiss rolls too, similar to Rich & Good Cake Shop. However, the quality may lose out abit to Rich & Good Cake Shop. Its may seems to be a simpler, cheaper and not as reputable as Rich & Good Cake Shop.

Seems like the first paragraph keep saying that Rich & Good Cake Shop is better than DJ Bakery. However, in my opinion, both shops have their pros and cons. DJ Bakery has their pros in locating in several locations of singapore and it is a cheaper version of what Rich & Good Cake Shop is selling. DJ Bakery are located at strategic neighbouring

Hup Lee Nasi Lemak Kovan Food Centre

This looks like any typical nasi lemak stall that has set meals at reasonable prices. They have the usual fried fish, fish cake, otah, chicken wing and ikan bilis. I think it should be 2-3 side dishes for a certain price, .
I find that the rice was just nice the nice grainy nasi lemak rice that i like, and it was fragrant too. The side dishes were just alright,The only thing that saved the dish was the sambal chilli which is a must have for nasi lemak dishes.

Lee Wee & Brothers' Otah Nasi lemak Raffles City Basement 1

I like the packet nasi lemak at this stall, the nice has nice strong coconut taste, the chiili sauce is sweet and spicy enough and the fish inside is fresh.. I will also add on a stick of their fish otah, their otah is nice, there are fish cubes in it and the otah is has nice taste of spice... apart from the normal fish otah, there are also prawn, crab and non-spicy otah available to choose from

Fa Ji Minced Pork Noodles @ Kovan Hougang Market & Food Centre

How often do you get a big bowl of noodles cooked by a handsome and macho hawker? Chances are not very high, although HFB spotted one located at Kovan Hougang Market & Food Centre.

At $3.50 for a bowl or Minced Pork Noodle Dry, HFB thought the noodles and ingredients were really generous – Minced pork, Fishcake, Pig Liver, Meatball, and dash of Braised Mushrooms!

Hock Lam Beef Noodles @ Upper Serangoon Road

Beef noodle basically has two versions, dry and soup. I used to love the dry version when I was in my teens but now I prefer the soup version. Hock Lam Beef Noodles which started selling the noodle on foot in Chinatown for years, opened its first stall at Hock Lam Street in 1911. It has a 100 years of history behind it

Cheng Kee Beef Kway Teow @ Kovan

Cheng Kee Beef Kway Teow stall is located at Wong Poh Kopitiam near Kovan MRT station. This is one of the best beef noodle in town. I have been a frequent patron of this stall for the past 10 years. Although the stall is no longer ran by the original owner and the price has gone up, the beef noodle is still that superb! Compare to Hock Lam Street beef noodle, the price of $3.50-$6.00 is value for money too.

The stall offers both dry and soup beef noodle. I usually ordered the beef kway teow soup. Most important don't forget the chilli paste and chinchalok for dipping the beef slices. It is just a heaven combination.

Pow Sing Chicken rice Serangoon Garden

Pow Sing was started by Mr Lee Chin Soo & Mr Steven Tan in the year 1983. Being traditional Hainanese they wanted to share with Singaporeans the true taste of "Hainanese Chicken Rice" and hence "Pow Sing Hainanese Chicken Rice" stall was opened at the very address that is "Pow Sing Restaurant" now.

In the year 1989 the partners felt that they could do more to promote Singaporean food and so they hired a traditional Nonya Chef and "Pow Sing Hainasese Chicken Rice" changed name to "Pow Sing Restaurant". In 2008 “Pow Sing Kitchen” was born to provide and serve the public with the best local cuisine.

Pow Sing has endear generations of customers and till this day families that patronise Pow Sing when it just opened as a Hainanese Chicken Rice stall still do and the thing that keeps them coming back is the true to form " Hainanese Chicken Rice" that has never changed since its opening.

Eight Immortals (Millenia Walk Koufu Food Court)

There is another hidden foodcourt at 2nd level of Millenia Walk, hidden in the jungle of Harvey Norman (from center escalator, turn right & left). It is much smaller & less known in comparsion to Suntec City's to the shoppers but I guess people working around the Suntec area would know about it. And in it, another Eight Immortals' vegetarian stall.
Found that they had quite reasonably priced economical rice which the price list mentioned 3 vege at $2.80

Sergeant Hainanese Chicken Rice Suntec City Food Republic

My Hubby and I are always arguing about who has the best chicken rice in Singapore. These guys - recommended by my wife - are the winners. The dish is perfected balanced, and the meat is tender, and wonderfully cooked.
