Within a short establishment period, U-Desserts has became one of the most famous dessert house in town. The recent increasing numbers of desserts house in Johor Bahru has not stopped U-Desserts from growing and instead, they launched their new branch at Plaza Sentosa just 2 months ago.

According to Chris, the founder of U-Desserts and a former baker, healthy desserts market has yet to develop in Malaysia but it has set off its new wave in other countries like Hong Kong and Singapore. So, with 2 of his partners, they brought in the wave into Malaysia, started off in Johor Bahru, hoping that the locals can also enjoy the sweetness of desserts but yet, healthily.

Desserts selling in the shop are originated from Hong Kong. Besides field trips to Hong Kong, 3 of the partners even hired dessert chef from Hong Kong to help with the business startup, to ensure the quality of their products. Nevertheless, to suit local taste buds, Chris even put in effort to fine tune the recipes.

Sukiya (すき家)at Bugis Plus Singapore

Fans of Sukiyaki and Shabu Shabu would love to hear of this buffet version, perfected with an unlimited supply of premium pork, chicken and beef!
Offering a selection of four basic soup bases, i could not remember what got into us that day as we decided to go with sukiyaki and touyu miso for our pot instead of their signature shabu shabu! Thinking back, it could likely be the novelty of trying something different
Not exactly healthy stuff if you ask me but the important thing is that you can pile up as much as you want! Do note that you don't get fish meat or fresh prawns; a major disadvantage when Chinese steamboat restaurants in the nearby Liang Seah street are offering a much wider variety

Yayoiken at Bugis Plus Singapore

Let’s first talk about the history of “Yayoiken”, started more than 125 years ago as a Western food restaurant in Kaybacho Tokyo. That was when Western cuisine was still considered rare in Japan, it is no surprise that they successfully developed a chain with 190 restaurants in Japan alone
For Yayoiken’s menu, you would find hamburger steaks, grilled mackerel, pork cutlets, beef steak and mixed grills – food more Western in flavours. Personally, I love the Japanese take on Western food, such as pasta, as they are usually lighter and more delicate.

Yayoiken has just opened its 2nd branch at Bugis+ (former Iluma), and has easily the longest F&B queue in the entire mall. What’s the appeal

Yayoiken – Probably The Most Affordable Japanese Restaurant Meal In Singapore
ShareLet’s first talk about the history of “Yayoiken”, started more than 125 years ago as a Western food restaurant in Kaybacho Tokyo. That was when Western cuisine was still considered rare in Japan, it is no surprise that they successfully developed a chain with 190 restaurants in Japan alone.

It is really affordable for a Japanese restaurant standard. A Buta Shogayaki, Saba miso or Oyako don set can cost only $9.90. So that’s stir fried sliced pork, with Japanese rice, miso, salad and tofu costing slightly more than $10 after taxes

Singapore Food Trail at Singapore Flyers

Yoshinoya 吉野家 at Heartland Mall Kovan Singapore

Me & my partner definitely (heart) their chicken bowl with vegie. I like their tofu dessert also - . Anytime we hv to go for lunch, we definitely will seek for this place. Indeed, the price quite pricey if compare with hawker food and the ambience is not that good but what do you expect from fast food

Taipei Cafe at Bugis Plus Singapore

Taipei Cafe, Bugis drew my attention with their many online deals they were collaborating with deal-of-the-day websites; and their offers were pretty low cost. So we went to check out the place with this $2.60 for an authentic Taipei night market XL snow ice deal before making any big plans with them.

It turned out well, and we like this place enough to return. The spacious cafe is comfortably cool and clean; HD music video playing on the large LCD TV with good sound speakers makes this a chic place to chill with friends.

Lerk Thai Marina Square Singapore

Go there accidentally for the 1st time in Jul 2012. Come back again on March 2013. Tom yum, fish cake, omelette, and seafood platter is a must try and so is the kiamboy drink... For appetizer, they will serve you a platter of cracker with a homemade chili - ohhhhh it's so fresh, spicy, and sour in one; i can still remember it. And the price is also affordable. I really recommend this.

Qi Wei Ji Bao 奇味鸡煲 at Upper serangoon Road Singapore

Located near the famous Punggol Nasi Lemak place and yet still able to have a thriving business would really tell you a lot about the food that this place is selling and how much it attract the patrons to come back again and again to satisfy their taste buds.

Currently, they have 2 stalls situated along the same street. One which is an indoor location situated near Domino Pizza while the other one is an outdoor location as mentioned above, next to the Punggol Nasi Lemak in a coffee shop.

This place was first introduced to me by my aunty who is a 'China-Fanatic' who is crazy about everything about china, be it the country itself, the people or even the food they sell. Honestly, as a typical Singaporean, I was initially very sceptical about the chicken pot that was introduced to me but after the first bite, let me tell you I was totally bought over!

you are a savoury food person like me, you would really love the taste of the chicken pot. Especially when you can add on additional plates of various ingredients that cost $3.30 each and customise the taste of the dish according to your taste buds.

However sad to say, when I first visited this place 2 years ago, per additional side dish cost only about $1.50 each. And over the span of the last 2 years, their prices were madly jerk up to $2+, $3 and later to $3.30(now). Be it vegetables or meatballs or bean curd skins, all the dishes have the same price and personally I don't feel that the portion justify the price at all.

The chicken pot comes in mild spiciness, mid spiciness and the most spicy ones. If you are not a spicy food lover, you can also request for they to make it none spicy specially just for you (But you would totally miss the point of eating it!) Personally mild spicy is totally enough for me and if you are up to more challenge you can try one level up which is mid spicy.
