E Da Word Kaohsiung Taiwan

Lin had a vision of creating a top class university, residential area, and tourist attraction all rolled into one. He choose the south of Taiwan outside of Kaohsiung City as he felt this was the place where he started out as a youth and worked hard to be successful.

Lin created E-Da world in the late 1990's, and it has slowly developed into a tourist attraction for locals and visitors alike. The area includes a university, (I- Shou University), an International School (I- Shou International School) , a theme park with rides and rollercoasters, Italian villa style residential neighborhoods, a large outlet mall, two hotels including the Crowne Plaza Hotel, movie theaters, and a driving range to boot.

Lin also was quoted as saying "We want to build E-Da World into Taiwan's 'Disneyland. Lin also expressed hope that the theme park's mascots, conceived by prominent local designer Demos Chiang, will become as popular as Japan's famous mascot "Hello Kitty" in the Chinese-speaking world.

E-Da World is located just outside Kaohsiung City amongst rolling hills in the district of Da Shu. It’s easily accessible by freeway or local roads by scooter.

Hou Wan Pingtung Taiwan

Hou Wan is located in Checheng Township, Pingtung County. It is connected by National Museum of Marine Biology and Aquarium to the north and Guishan to the east, which is inside the range of KenTing National Park. The landform of Hou Wan is rising coral reef which naturally has an intertidal ecology based on reefs. Hou Wan is a curved bay with beautiful views. Due to strong erosion, the deep sea area at Hou Wan has formed kinds of coral landforms, such as erosion ditches. Since the ditch bottom is flat and ditch wall is steep, the landform becomes coastal terrace. And, the distance between each step is 1 meter high. In addition, there are corrosion holes. The range of holes on the coast in Hou wan is wide. Most of hole depths are over 30 meters. Even some of them are consisted of many smaller holes after erosion. This also explains why we can see some exposed coral reefs with obvious erosion at the coast. Hou Wan was a secluded small fishing port. Because of "Cape No.7", it becomes famous and attracts many fans to find the seaside where Old Mao and others chatted till sunrise. The beautiful beach and peaceful ambience of Hou Wan do deserve the fame. After entering the fishing village and walking towards the dike, soon you will see Hou Wan Bridge in blue and red. This is where they chatted in the movie. At the coast of Hou Wan, there are some wooden decks. Standing on the deck, you can see the whole beautiful bay curve. With the peaceful sea surface in front your eyes, your mind can really be relaxed. If you want to pick some stones or step in sea water, you just follow the causeway along the coast. You can see those erosion holes by the way. And, remember to take a walk inside the fishing village, to feel the free ambience of Hou Wan fishing village.
