Phuket Night Market

One of the highlights for anyone visiting Thailand for the first time, is always the discovery of the local night market. Shopping in one of these noisy, busy markets is like no other shopping experience on earth. Phuket Night Market, which also goes by the name of Jatujak Market (also known as Chao Fa Market by locals) is one of the best examples of its kind to be found in Southern Thailand.

Phuket Night Market is easy to find, it is located directly opposite Wat Naka along Chao Fa West Road, just off the road which heads off to Phang Nga. Every Tuk-Tuk and taxi driver knows this market, just mention the name. The market is only open two nights of the week, on Saturdays and Sundays.

The Market itself opens about 4pm and closes around 9 - 9.30pm and is a carnival type atmosphere. If travelling in a rented car, its best to arrive early as parking can be a problem.
