Former Ritz-Carlton head pastry chef Sherie Quek churns out her Frenchstyle bakes – don’t miss her divinely flaky pain au chocolat ($2.80) – at her pretty Boat Quay café, where she shows off her skills in a glass-encased kitchen. For a sample of everything, try the three-tiered high tea set ($28 with coffee, $32 with tea) consisting buttery scones with a selection of homemade jams, petite sandwiches and pastries, best enjoyed in the alfresco garden area.
