Switch by Timbre at Bras Basah Singapore

2ingapore, an island that has got limited opportunities for local music talents to showcase their performance, Timbre started off with a bar that allows local music a stage to perform. The group expanded it's Timbre brand and had 3 "Timbre" around Singapore. Timbre Substation, Timbre Arts House and Timbre Old School. All this 3 outdoor bar/restaurant provides the same menu across and have various local bands performing. From 53A to GoodFellas and other great local music talents.

Timbre expanded it's targeted audience to Chinese Music as all Timbre mentioned above are of english genre. They started Switch.

Located at NTUC Union house ground level right beside the main walking street. To access this place, for people like me who doesn't drive. Just take the Singapore Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) , Metro to Bras Basah Station on Circle Line. Take Exit A and turn right once you come out and that is NTUC union house and you will be able to see Switch.

The special thing about switch that is different from timbre is, firstly it is located in an air-conditioned area. Next is the iPad Ordering System which I find it unique. It is a great idea as it cuts down the waiting time and the frustration of getting attention of the waiter.

For tourist that is coming to Singapore, this is one of the few places in addition to those that I reviewed before that contains live music and great food. Do listen to our local Music Talents and support them

Nando's at Tebrau City Johor

Nando's is a South African casual dining restaurant group originating from the Mozambican–Portuguese community with a Portuguese/Mozambiquan theme. Founded in 1987, Nando's operates about 1,000 outlets in thirty countries on five continents and as of 2012 had sales of $650 million.

Nando's specializes in chicken dishes with either lemon and herb, medium, hot, extra hot or extra extra hot Peri-Peri marinades (properly known as Galinha à Africana). In some countries, Nando's has other flavour options like mango and lime or Mediterranean

五代同糖 dessert at Permas Jaya Johor

We came here for desserts after supper and even though it was close to midnight, the cafe was full and we had to wait for a table! I can fully understand why it’s so popular by the time we left though.

To say it in a very typical johorean way, the desserts here ”got standard

Kage Sushi - Plaza Sentosa johor

It's nice and clean looking and they offer a buffet option.

The Buffet has two options Rm39 or Rm55 - between 12 midday and 3:00pm (weekdays) you can pick either option and then at 6:00pm till 10:30pm it's Rm55 (7 days).
Of course you don't have to go buffet, you can run free through the menu.

If you are looking for good Sushi in Johor and you happen to be near Plaza Sentosa, Kage Sushi is certainly worth your time, we will be back.

Maccha House at Orchard Central Singapore 抹茶館

Maccha House hails from Kyoto, Japan under the Tokyo-based create restaurants holdings. The Kyoto branch is a modern looking café that serves a variety of matcha desserts and teas at Kyoto’s Mosiac Dining located at Shijo Kawaramachi, located just across Gion, over the Kamogawa
Fortunately with its new branch in Singapore (just opened in 15th December 2012), you don’t have to spend 600-800 SGD to fly to Osaka then take a train to Kyoto to enjoy its gourmet offerings
Located at the basement of Somerset’s Orchard Central (designed by my tutor!) is a promising Maccha House branch that serves up pretty good matcha desserts and beverages

Pepper Lunch At Raffles City Food Junction

We visited pepper lunch express at raffles city. $6.80 you get a sizzling hot plate with rice, corn and beef (or salmon) and pepper. You also get a soup and sauces to drizzle on. For $2 extra you can have extra meat. We loved it. Such a flavour some, affordable and fulfilling meal. I'd strongly recommend

The Manhattan Pizza Co at Orchard Central Singapore

As far as pizza in Singapore is concerned, there is nothing that has blown me away. At all. But what I appreciate about this place is that it's not anything that tries to be too fancy or elaborate. It's got the classics like hawaiian, margharita, and pepperoni with some other more specialty options mixed in. It's very similar to what you would find in food courts in the states, a quick slice with no fuss.

The location of this place is in a mall, but it's kind of unfortunate- tucked away in a corner it's easy to walk past. The service is good though so it's worth stopping in and giving it a try.
